Firefox Chrome URLs

Coba ketikkan baris berikut dalam address bar Mozilla Firefox:

chrome://global/content/alerts/alert.xul

Maka windows Firefox akan mengecil pada pojok kanan bawah dan secara pelan akan membuka dan menutup. Jika hanya ada satu tab yang terbuka, maka setelah menutup windows tersebut akan menghilang. Sebelum menghilang, ketika proses membuka-menutup masih berlangsung, maximize window-nya, maka jendela tersebut akan berpindah ke pojok kiri atas dan kembali membuka dan menutup seperti sebelumnya.

Proses membuka-menutupnya jendela Firefox seperti itu merupakan implementasi dari jendela yang biasa muncul di atas taskbar ketika sebuat pemberitahuan seperti selesainya download file oleh Firefox telah selesai. Banyak implementasi fungsi tampilan Firefox pada window tertentu yang dapat dilakukan pada window utama Firefox.

Contoh lainnya misalnya dengan mengetikkan baris berikut:

chrome://browser/content/preferences/preferences.xul

Setelah itu pada windows utama akan tampil preferensi Firefox yang biasanya nampak pada window ketika kita menggunakan menu Tools — Options..

Untuk melihat URL chrome Firefox yang lain, silahkan melihat pada halaman di mozillaZine, ada banyak URL chrome beserta penjelasannya, hanya saja ada beberapa yang memang sudah tidak berfungsi.
